ReCreative Spaces Photography Exhibit: Opening Reception Recap
Thank You!
I am so moved by the outpouring of support from everyone who came out to the opening reception for my photography exhibit at ReCreative Spaces this past July (my first photography installation ever!). From all the emcees who came out to support, to Ben and my Nomadic Wax family who surprised me at the last minute, to DJ Boo holding it down lovely on the 1's and 2's, to all the friend and family who came through.... It was a truly humbling experience.
Emily of ReCreative Spaces was so supportive and helpful in guiding me through the organizing of my first ever gallery show for my photography. And special thank you to Alejandro for helping me capture photos of the reception (see below). This was truly a family event. My wife, who pushed me to pursue an installation like this in the first place, co-wrote the caption stories with me, and supported me throughout the entire process.
It was an honor to get a preview feature in DCist as well (read here), and AfricasACountry posted a piece about the photos as well (read here).
If you haven't seen the exhibit already, the installation will be up until September 30th at ReCreative Spaces: 3501 Perry Street, Mount Rainier, MD 20712. And if you are interested in purchasing any prints, or some of the limited edition posters I made for the event, you can do through the online store at ReCreative Spaces (see here).
FotoDC: STYLE exhibition (July 11)
One of my photos was selected to feature in the FotoDC: STYLE exhibition here in DC. The exhibition will run from July 11 to July 23rd at CityCenterDC, and the opening reception will be Tuesday July 11 from 6-8pm (more info here). You can read more about all the winners here.
This photo was taken with a canon 5d mark II a couple of years ago. I did a long exposure series using an intervalomoter with the camera locked off on a tripod. Shout out to Dom and Gesine for humoring me for this photo.
Photo Selected for a DC Exhibition
Pleased to announce that one of my photographs was selected for RecreativeSpaces "Where We Wanna Be" DC photography exhibit at Potter's House Cafe in Columbia Heights, DC. The photo is from a series I did many years ago. This one specifically is of the one and only Flex Mathews, a DC legend. A special thank you to Flex for participating in that photo shoot.
